7 Categories for New Year’s Resolutions

7-categories-for-new-years-resolutionsNew Year’s Resolutions.

I know, I know.

Who really keeps those, anyway?

I’ve definitely broken more than I’ve kept but that doesn’t stop me from making them year after year. As long as I am living, I will continue to set goals (that’s all a resolution is anyway, right?).

We should all seek growth and improvement. Not just at the start of a new year but every single day. A new year is simply an opportunity to reset and refocus.

I usually get my new year goals by going through my dream book and then I have a process I go through from there. This year, I started off as normal but I decided to add a twist. I chose 7 categories (out of 12) from my dream book as well. Then, I  matched my goals with them. If there wasn’t a goal for a category, I went back to my book and found one (I have over 500 dreams).

Here are the 7 categories I have chosen, along with examples of goals.

7 Categories for New Years Resolutions Goals:

Intellectual – Read 1 book per month

Spiritual – Memorize 1 Scripture each week

Physical – Drop the baby weight

Professional – Write an e-book

Adventure – Visit somewhere I’ve never been

Financial – Build emergency fund back up

Creative – Take an art class

What an interesting concept! I did something like this in college. It was great because if I missed something, I always renewed my goals the next month.

I like the idea of just renewing them the next month instead of beating yourself up over missed resolutions. 🙂 Thanks for reading!

I love how you have broken down your goals. I set a goal to read more this year too. I’m guilty of not reading enough. I also love the one about memorizing Scripture, can’t go wrong with that one! 🙂

I was afraid that one book a month was overly ambitious but I told myself it can be any length of book. So that helps! haha. Thanks for stopping by. Good luck on your goal! 🙂
